Our AWANA program is in need of 1-2 leaders for the program for the upcoming year. At a high-level, the leaders are responsible for promoting the program, recruiting teachers and volunteers, ensuring the evening goes smoothly and supporting the teachers. AWANA helps children learn about God and touches many children both in and outside of our church walls. If you’re interested in learning more, please see Pastor Randy or Melissa Apanel.
The Agape Class is starting a new study based on the Lord’s Prayer – “The Great Adventure.” It’s a CD Series with a study Guide for discussion. All are welcome to attend. For more information, contact Rosanne Thomas or Chuck Smeltz.
Reminder: I know there are many places and things where your money is needed and appreciated. I also am aware how much this congregation does for the project in Uganda and you have no idea how much it is appreciated by so, so many people in Uganda. I just wanted to remind everyone that in Feb of 2008, the Life Care Food Fund was started by Dick and Alice Zeeger and has been feeding every child and teacher in the Life Care School a hot meal each school day since. This has made a visible and dramatic change in the children at the school. They are no longer crying because of hunger and there is a light in their eyes that was not there when they were hungry. The giving towards this ministry has dropped off significantly over the past year or so and the funds that are needed to provide this meal are dwindling. We are providing around 350 meals per day at the cost of $35 daily. Please pray about making a contribution to this very important ministry. You can use the envelopes in the pews or just mark on your envelope that it is for the Uganda food fund. Thank you very much. Lori Ssebulime

The Christ’s Outreach of Love (C.O.O.L.) Ministry will host the annual FREE community event onAugust 5th. This will be our 16th year hosting this event for the public. We will be changing the location from the Rotary Field to the East Snyder Park off Route 522 on University Avenue. As always, we will need plenty of help. We need volunteers to help on Friday, August 4th, with set up; Saturday, August 5th, with the event and tear down Saturday night; Sunday with final teardown of tents and stage then take back to West Branch. We also need some food provided. There are areas that don’t require a lot of physical help, so even if you can’t stand for long periods of time, we will provide chairs. Please prayerfully consider what you can do to help. We need plenty of help over the 3 days. Sign-up sheets will be posted on the office window, so consider what area you would be willing to help. If you have any questions, contact Steve Kerstetter 570-473-8329 or Bob Zaborowski 570-374-5430.
