Week of July 23, 2017
Christmas in July – There is a Christmas Tree in the narthex with stars on it that have different amounts on them ($10.00, $15.00 & $25.00). Take a star and buy a Walmart gift card for the amount designated. Bring the star and gift card back to the church office by July 30th, so we can give the cards to families within our church to buy back-to-school clothing and supplies. There will also be stars with amounts on for gift cards to Walmart for the Preschool. Have those back to the church by July 30th also.
Baseball Game – We have been invited to a Trenton Thunder Minor League Baseball Game on Friday, August 4th. The reason is to meet & greet a Uganda Baseball Team of 16 to 18 year old players with 4 to 5 players from the 2012 Uganda Little League Team, that we were their “Family” at the LL World Series in Williamsport. They will be in the USA from July 29th to August 12th, and this will be the only time that we can see them. So, if you would be interested in going along to Trenton on August 4th and for further information – please contact Tim Brouse at 570-743-1715 by July 20th , so we can reserve a seat for you at the game.
Food Stand: The United Methodist Women will be having a food stand at Grace Rothermel’s public sale on Saturday, July 22. We could use help with donations of baked goods (cookies, brownies, pies, etc.), bottled water, soda, etc. A sign-up sheet is on the office window. Please have your items to the church by Friday, July 21st.
Proclamation – “Learn to Preach” with Pastor Randy. Classes will be held each Tuesday evening, 6:30-8:30 pm in August. A sign-up sheet is on the office window.
The Christ’s Outreach of Love (C.O.O.L.) Ministry will host the annual FREE community event on August 5th at the East Snyder Park off Route 522 on University Avenue. We need volunteers to help on Friday, August 4th, with set up; Saturday, August 5th, with the event and tear down Saturday night; Sunday with final teardown of tents and stage then take back to West Branch. We also need some food provided. There are areas that don’t require a lot of physical help, so even if you can’t stand for long periods of time, we will provide chairs. Please prayerfully consider what you can do to help. Sign-up sheets are posted on the office window, so consider what area you would be willing to help. If you have any questions, contact Steve Kerstetter 570-473-8329 or Bob Zaborowski 570-274-2343.
